Created in Partnership with a Patient & Chemist: The Origin Story

StomaEase™ BarrierBalm™ was developed by chemist and feeding tube patient Jasmine Sturr, whom you may also know as the creator of StomaEase™.

Jasmine first created BarrierBalm™ to help her neighbor’s daughter, a toddler born with a cleft palate who required multiple surgeries. During her recovery, the child needed months of antibiotics, which led to a severe and persistent diaper rash.

Jasmine’s first formulation made an immediate difference. Seeing the impact it had, she realized there was a broader need for this kind of carefully formulated skin protection.

As a Tubie herself, Jasmine had seen many patients turn to traditional diaper rash creams to manage irritation around feeding tubes, with limited success. She believed there could be a better solution for those experiencing severe skin irritation around stomas, wounds, and other sensitive areas.
